Trend Alert: Purple is the New Black!

Melanie Sidle

While the Pantone color of the year has been declared Greenery, you’d never know from the shades of lilac, lavender, and royal purple spotted on the runway this year. Of course, it can be hard to pull off a full purple outfit, so going with a delicate piece of jewelry to add a splash of purple to your look gives you the right amount of color to pull off the perfect look.

Alex Cooper is offering many elegant pieces of purple jewelry in our upcoming July 20, 2017 auction. Some of my top picks from the purple jewelry include:

Lot 129: A Lady’s Victorian Amethyst Ring in 14K Gold

14K white gold vintage filigree ring with openwork, featuring a long, faceted oval amethyst.

Lot 233: A Victorian Necklace with Amethyst & Pearls

14K yellow gold pendant connected to a 9K chain, featuring round faceted amethyst accented by seed pearls, in a traditional “Y” design, spring clasp, offered with original box from Harry L. Dix, Atlanta, GA.

Lot 245: A Lady’s Ruby and Pearl Bangle Bracelet in Gold

14K yellow gold, ruby cabochon with seed pearls, largest ruby measuring approx 11mm x 8mm x 5.5mm, hinged, box closure with safety latch.
