Richard Millard: Online-Only Stained Glass Auction

Richard Millard has been described as both a living legend and a national treasure by America’s leading stained glass artists. He is known for creating beautiful sought after works of art for more than 60 years.

Millard is also a successful writer, who has written more than 400 articles on stained glass for different magazines and journals. He was the Interim Editor of the SGAA’s Stained Glass Quarterly from 1984 -1986. In 1979 he wrote the book “Stained Glass Paintings,” Isenberg and Millard, and for seven years he wrote a monthly column called “On Stained Glass” for Glass Digest.

From September 1981 – August 1983 Millard published and illustrated a monthly newsletter called “Guidelines,” which later became the catalyst for the SGAA Reference & Technical Manual. He was the first chairman of the SGAA Repair and Restoration Committee from 1976 – 1984 where he provided consultation and specifications for stained glass restoration.

In 1994 he established the Antrim School at Millard Studios where he has been teaching stained glass painting and design skills.
