Description
Circa 1765, stamped PR mark under the rim. In the George III style, urn-form, scroll handle with a small monogram on the foliate cap, gadrooned rim, the whole on a pedestal foot with gadrooned rim; 5 1/4 in. H, 4.6 ozt.
 
Condition
With some small dents around the middle consistent with age, use, and material. The foot rim with slight warping. A slight crease/dent on the tip of the spout. Slight rubbing along the gadrooned rim on the top. Without repairs. This creamer has not been polished
 
Provenance
Presented to Abigail Alden upon her marriage to Rev. Francis Winter on October 27, 1768. Then by descent through the family. Examined by C. Malcolm Watkins, Associate Curator, Division of Ethnology, Smithsonian Institution, October 24, 1950. Appraised by Sotheby's for insurance purposes in 1987.
